Theme Day - Waiting

Its the 1st of the month and here in CDP blogland its Theme Day. The theme for December is Waiting. I wasn't very inspired by this months choice but then it suddenly hit me. What are we all waiting for? Christmas! Whether you are waiting for it to arrive because you love it or are waiting for it to arrive because you want to get it out of the way as you hate it, we are all waiting. And how to capture that waiting? An advent calender of course! Some are a candle that you burn each day, some are traditional calenders and have a religious picture, others are chocolate filled. No surprise as to what mine is! Now I'm going to open the first little door and get my chocolatey reward!

Now, no more waiting. See what other inspired ideas people have come up with for this theme by clicking here.

Marley,
Darlin' I"m so thrilled you'll get a chocolate treat each week, right up until Christmas, but I have to tell ya this is the cheapest, most commercial take on Advent that I have ever witnessed. The UK has gotten a jump on American commercialization of Christmas here. I'm sure we are right behind you. Ewwww.

PS My WV is predi. It ain't predi!

Good choice for theme day. A little chocolate helps the angst of the season.

I like your take on this month's theme . . . never saw a chocolate advent calendar. Enjoy!

Dang it! You just reminded me that I should have picked up some chocolate Advent calendars for the kids. My dad used to always send them each one but he died 2 years ago and I have meant to pick up the tradition that the kids have loved so much!

Great Theme Day! Now I want chocolate!

Hey, I want one of those! Now I have to go to the supermarket to see if Cadbury sells it here.

Very interesting calendar and good holiday choice for theme day

An Advent Calendar manages to divide the wait up into bite-sized pieces. I am with you all the way with the chocolate to get me through the next 6 weeks or so.

I have taken the Christmas route to waiting, too.

Commercial, yes, for sure, but this is an advent calendar with a twist! The chocolate gets BIGGER as the days pass? Is that so? Oh, yum....and oh, yes, Merry Christmas. ;)

This is one idea we certainly can relate to, especially the chocolate treats.

A most original take on the word Waiting. Love it - not that I'm waiting for Christmas. We see a lot of those Advent calenders in Europe but I've never seen one on a box of chocolates before. Enjoy each day as it comes....

Wonderful, Marley! Does it come in dark chocolate as well? Despite Virginia's comment, I think this is perfect for an advent calendar ... actually, there should be one for each month of the year!

I always cheat and eat all the chocolate beofre the time. Guess I'm not a good waiter.

I recently worked out the number of days I have till retirement, it was so depressing I thought about having a giant advent calendar with a chocolate a day to make it a bit more bearable! Good take on the theme :)

Hah, I saw your comment and indiscreet question on my blog! Actually I'm a bit older than you think (let's just say life began this year and leave it at that!), and last week I worked out I had 7,126 days to go till my 60th birthday. Mind you by the time I'm 60 the retirement age will probably be 83 so it's all a bit academic. That's why I thought of the chocolate, to make the wait a bit more bearable.

Now I'm just wondering how many of the 7,126 days it will take me to figure out what I want to do when I grow up!
