Sky Watch Friday

Autumn Cherry Tree & Grey Sky

I know you were all thinking to yourselves "I wonder what that cherry tree outside Marley's front window looks like now?" Well, here is the answer. I've posted several photos of this tree before (blossom, green, turning) and now here it is almost ready to drop its leaves. I'm not sure why but on grey days, like yesterday, all of the autumn leaves seem brighter. Anyone know why?

To join in with Sky Watch Friday, and to see the sky all over the world, head to the Sky Watch Friday Blog.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Very pretty. Will look great without it's leaves too.

Beautiful. I always noticed the grey-sky thing and color. I think the sun is just so bright it sort of washes colors out. That is the VERY non-scientific answer I am giving!

Oo, my grandmother used to have a cherry tree outside her window just like that one!! Brings back memories! Lovely photo :-)

Marley: Maybe it looks brighter beacuse it's the most colorful thing you see. It looks like Louise said it in a different way.

It does look like a late autumn sky and good thing you captured those leaves before they drop.

I love love love autumn & seeing all the gorgeous colors - I'm always in such a state of amazement this time of year!!! And, probably because the bright colors pop more against a dull background?

Nice to have a changing tree with changing seasons right outside. I can't get over how bright the changing leaves are in Ohio - it's downright dull in So Cal by comparison. Wish I could capture the glow of the yellow as it really looks.

The colours seem birghter, because they are against well nothing, no colour. I love the way you have caught these, just on the turn. You can sense the falling leaves at each camer click.

Such lovely colours. I was away over the weekend and after only 3 days I have noticed how fast the leaves are dropping. Has your cherry tree any leaves left?
